COVID-19 Vaccine: Where people 65 and older can get vaccinated in the Tampa Bay area

The COVID-19 vaccine has begun rolling out for people 65 and older in the Tampa Bay area.ABC Action News has compiled a list of the vaccine distribution plans released by each county. Please check back for the latest information.CITRUS COUNTYThe Florida Department of Health in Citrus County will be offering COVID-19 vaccines to individuals 65 and older at two drive-thru clinics.The clinics will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until supplies last, on Thursday, Jan. 7 and Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Central Ridge District Park, 6905 N. Lecanto Hwy in Beverly Hills.Prior to receiving the vaccine, individuals will be required to download and complete the Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Screening and Consent.For information regarding availability and future vaccine clinics, click here. DESOTO COUNTYAt this time, no vaccine distribution plan has been released. HARDEE COUNTYAt this time, no vaccine distribution plan has been released.HERNANDO COUNTYThe Florida Department of Health in Hernando County will begin offering the COVID-19 vaccine to adults age 65 and older on Monday, Jan. 4. The vaccine will be offered at no cost and by appointment only.Appointments may be made by calling 352-540-6800 and choosing option 1.HIGHLANDS COUNTYAt this time, no vaccine distribution plan has been released.HILLSBOROUGH COUNTYThe Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County says the vaccine is not widely available at this time and the distribution plans depend on vaccine supplies.As Hillsborough County receives sufficient supplies and is able to announce detailed distribution plans, updates will be posted at HCFLGov.net/Vaccine.MANATEE COUNTYThe Florida Department of Health in Manatee County will be offering vaccinations to seniors age 65 and older by appointment only beginning Wed., Dec. 30.Manatee County residence is not required, but snowbirds must remain in Manatee County for their second round (28 days after the first appointment).Manatee County Government will announce dates, locations and online appointment availability each Monday at 2 p.m. when additional vaccinations are available. According to their website, they are “currently developing a plan for distribution that meets the requirements of the governor’s executive order as quickly as possible.
