Lockton’s Jim Facinelli to Head Up the Institutes’ Broker Advisory Board
The Institutes announced the formation of an insurance broker advisory board with the goal of strengthening the ability of the risk and insurance certification and education nonprofit to serve that sector of the industry.
The advisory board will work on several different tasks, including providing knowledge on issues for brokers, including unbiased insights, and the development of new business ideas. Jim Facinelli from Lockton is to lead the board. Other members include Dan Mitchell from Marsh, Linda Cai from Aon and Amy Halliburton from Gallagher, to name a few.
President and CEO of The Institutes Peter Miller commented, “We are pleased to have this amazing group of industry executives to help guide our outreach and product development for the insurance broker market.”

F&G Promotes Steve Sanders and Ron Barrett to Executive Positions
F&G recently announced the promotion of two executives to senior vice president positions. Steve Sanders is promoted to senior vice president of life distribution and Ron Barrett is named the provider’s senior vice president of annuity distribution and key accounts.
Both men have worked with F&G for several years; Sanders since 2019 and Barrett since 2014. Since joining F&G, Sanders oversaw several sectors of the life distribution channel, which includes the creation of a framework aimed to increase life sales for F&G.
Barrett helped F&G maintain strong distribution relationships across the industry. Additionally, he is responsible for the development of an annuity distribution team with an initiative is to increase sale growth and expand on distribution channels.
Everest Insurance Announces New President of Specialty Casualty
Everest Insurance recently hired Connie Germano as president of specialty casualty.
Germano brings several years of underwriting experience for major insurance carriers to her new role. She joined Everest Insurance in 2015 and prior to her new appointment, served as the insurer’s lead of specialty casualty group, including the environmental, excess casualty, life sciences and E&S casualty sectors.

Lockton Announces Hiring of Dan Urias to Lead Commercial Insurance Growth
Lockton Pacific recently hired Dan Urias as vice president, producer to lead the insurer’s commercial insurance presence in Southern California.
In this new role, Urias will be responsible for the deliverance of risk management options to businesses facing a mirage of risk, with the COVID-19 pandemic being the most notable.
Urias brings a decade’s worth of construction and manufacturing experience to his role with Lockton. Prior to his appointment, he served as a producer for Marsh & McLennan Agency-West.
